Inside the creative practice

Where ideas become objects.

The Lévietate studio brings research, writing, illustration, symbolism, product design and publishing into one independent creative practice. Each collection is developed from its earliest idea through to its final physical form with a consistent visual and conceptual direction.

The Studio

The work begins long before an object enters production. It starts with research, questions, sketches, language and the gradual construction of a world that feels complete enough to hold.

01 · Research

The Work Begins With Context

Historical references, mythology, symbolism, artistic traditions and cultural context are explored before a visual direction is established. Research provides the foundation beneath the finished imagery.

02 · Writing

Language Shapes the Collection

Titles, card meanings, guidebook text and product language are developed alongside the artwork. Writing helps establish the emotional tone, structure and purpose of each collection.

03 · Illustration

Imagery With a Visual Language

Illustration is developed as a connected system rather than a series of isolated images. Composition, recurring symbols, texture and atmosphere work together across the complete deck or collection.

04 · Design

Every Detail Belongs

Typography, borders, card backs, packaging, guidebooks and finishes are designed to feel connected to the same world. Each detail supports the collection rather than competing with it.

05 · Development

From Screen to Physical Form

Digital artwork must eventually become a tactile object. Cardstock, scale, coatings, foils, box construction and print behaviour are tested and adjusted so the physical result supports the original concept.

06 · Refinement

Created Through Revision

Projects move through repeated rounds of editing, proofing and reconsideration. Images are redrawn, language is refined and materials are adjusted until the collection feels cohesive in both meaning and form.

Each project moves through a deliberate sequence from initial inquiry to finished collection.

01 Question

A subject, need or unresolved idea becomes the starting point for the work.

02 Research

Historical, symbolic and visual references are gathered and studied.

03 Build

Writing, illustration and structure begin forming one connected world.

04 Edit

Elements are removed, revised or redrawn until the collection feels clear.

05 Materialize

Digital ideas are translated into cardstock, paper, packaging and finish.

06 Release

The completed work leaves the studio and enters the hands of its collector.

A small studio with a wide creative practice.

Independent from beginning to end

Lévietate is independently operated, which means many parts of the work remain closely connected: concept development, illustration, writing, product direction, website design, packaging decisions, customer communication and fulfilment.

This smaller structure allows projects to retain a personal point of view and evolve at their own pace. It also means each release is considered carefully before it is added to the broader body of work.

The practice extends beyond the finished object.

01 Developing Collections

New tarot, oracle and ceremonial systems move through research, writing, illustration and testing.

02 Refining Editions

Existing work may be revisited through updated packaging, improved materials or expanded written content.

03 Publishing Resources

Tarot guides, journal writing and educational material extend the work beyond the physical deck.

04 Building the Archive

Each finished collection becomes part of an expanding archive of art, symbolism, writing and object design.
