We approach environmental responsibility as an ongoing practice: reduce what is unnecessary, prioritize longevity and remain honest about where improvement is still needed.
Paper First
Our decks and printed components are predominantly paper-based. We favour sturdy materials selected for repeated handling so each collection can remain part of a reader’s practice rather than becoming a short-lived object.
Less Plastic, More Purpose
We prioritize recyclable paper packaging and reduce unnecessary plastic wherever manufacturing, protection and product safety allow. Packaging should protect the work without overwhelming it.
Designed to Be Kept
The most responsible object is often one that continues to be valued and used. We create decks and ritual objects with lasting visual, tactile and emotional relevance rather than designing around temporary trend cycles.
Intentional Quantities
As an independent studio, production quantities are considered carefully. We plan around realistic demand to limit avoidable excess while keeping established collections available to the people seeking them.
Practical Shipping Choices
Orders are packed with protection and efficiency in mind. Suitable packing materials may be reused where appropriate, and we avoid presentation layers that add volume without meaningfully improving the customer’s experience.
A Continuing Standard
Materials, manufacturers and processes continue to evolve. We review new packaging options, production methods and waste-reduction opportunities as they become practical for our products and scale.

A collection should begin with a meaningful creative purpose, not simply with the desire to add another object to the market.
Function, durability and emotional resonance matter as much as visual presentation when an object is being developed.

A note on transparency
Specialty card production can involve inks, coatings, adhesives, foils and protective components that are not recyclable in every municipality. Available processes also vary between manufacturers and individual editions.
Rather than describing sustainability as a finished achievement, we treat it as a working standard: reduce what is unnecessary, choose more responsible options where they are available and remain clear about where limitations still exist.

Keep decks dry and away from prolonged direct sunlight, moisture and excessive heat.
Clean, dry hands help preserve card surfaces, edges and printed finishes through regular use.
Original packaging protects the collection and reduces the need for replacements or additional storage products.
A deck that is no longer being used can be gifted, exchanged or resold so that it continues its life elsewhere.
